Why is four-wheel drive so important? With the right tyres and decent ground clearance, two-wheel drive cars can be very capable.

A 2WD Freelander TD4 is a nightmare to drive, even with good tyres. Wheelspin and understeer are terrible even at moderate speeds. I ran mine without the propshaft for a few weeks as I waited for a recon viscous coupling to be delivered and it was horrible.

I wouldn't mind a 2WD L-series one, it'd drive just like a jacked up R8 I think.

 

Being honest, I see mine as a Maestro on stilts.
