3 months ago I bought, for much cheapness, a really nice Rover 75 Conny tourer,2 litre diesel with Badermatic. The box was "iffy"..........."iffy" being another word for totally bolloxed.

As scrap prices are on their knees at the moment, it's still parked outside.

So naturally, the logical thing is to buy another one......this time a KV6 2.5 auto. 74000 miles, cambelts / thermostat/ and various other hideous jobs already done.

Collecting Saturday.....from all of 2 miles away, so it'll probably expire at least twice on the way home.

Not Tourer [which I forgot to mention] but it is pre facelift, which I prefer muchly.

 

 

Now have collected.......uneventful 2.47 mile drive back home, now slumbering next to defunct Tourer.

75k miles, clean as a joke on children's hour, apart from a couple of minor parking bruises.

Cambelts done, thermostat thingy done,year's ticket, and nothing appears to be amiss [cue mass mechanical unpleasantness]

I wouldn't worry so much about the autobox, more the structural integrity of the rear if the number plate gives way.

Oh, that I had the talent so to do...................
