I know I've been away for a few months.  So let me bring all of you up-to-date on my shite situation.

 

For those of you who remember my crap-bucket US-spec 1998 Ford Escort SE saloon, I am sad to report it has by now been turned into a girder in a Beijing skyscraper, having gone to the scrappy several months ago.  Cause of death was a dropped valve seat in number four cylinder, a common issue with the Ford CVH engine.

 

Not long afterwards, my 2003 Volkswagen Passat GL 1.8T estate began doing its best to bankrupt me with frequent and horrendously expensive breakdowns.  So when I finally had enough of that misery, I bought this.......

I'm probably doing this whole shite thing wrong by buying something boring, reliable and Japanese but it had to be done.  Being continuously left stranded by the side of the road was getting on my nerves and not doing my work attendance record any good, either.

 

So there you have it.  I may have failed at shiteness for now, but I'm not ruling out purchasing something incredibly shonky and potentially lethal at some later date.  Hey, I can dream, can't I?
