Yo.

 

Off to collect a 190e later today.  Just sorting insurance.

 

Footman James want £181 for 5000 miles a year.  (Bear in mind that my Avensis is on a proper policy doing 20k and is the same price)

 

General Accident (current insurer) say that this car is not eligible for their cover.  WTF? Do they have a 20 year limit or something??

Anyway - what would you do?

I know it's "old school," but I use a good old fashioned broker to fix my insurance! I can recommend one who has sorted out policies for Ladas, Wartburgs, Reliant Robins, FSOs and Skodas over the years for me, to name but a few. Prices are always reasonable. I may have been able to obtain cheaper insurance by spending hours on t'internet, but I prefer to actually speak to a human being, and one that's down the road from me that I can walk into and meet!

Try Peter S Taylor and speak to a real person on the phone. They insured my Tatras for years and did a cracking deal on my Porsche 924.
