Can I fix a Clio ignition switch?

Recommended Posts

My daughter's Clio Mk2 Ph1 Clio has a problem with the ignition switch. The key does not return when turned to the starter position on it's own. I imagine the spring has broken. Is this likely & can it be repaired or should I look for a new lock set?
If I do go for a lock set, can I still use the remote central locking & the imobiliser?
Any help much apreciated.

You can just swap the key blade over as the immobilizer chip is in the key casing. You would only need the ignition barrel if you don't mind having different keys. The spring can't be changed on it's own as they are a sealed unit.

Thanks for that confirmation, much appreciated. I toyed with trying to take the barrel to bits, but wasn't sure if possible. I can get a used lock set for about £25 so will do that, I think.
