Yes the boot is conjoined with the rest of the car. Rust doesn't seem to be a problem with this one.

Rear beam wear kills loads of them off too

Yes rear beam is the Achilles heal, of course.  But they are a mere* £255 fully rebuilt nowadays so not too bad if you're keeping the car a couple of years.  I reckon the originals are good for about 100k.
