The guy you bought it from does sound like an idiot, why spend a few hundred on a car and then just get fed up because it runs out of MOT? Sums up what Rev BJ was saying on another thread about pure waste.

 

Don't forget to let him know how it easily passed an MoT at such little cost and work. I would have been inclined to run it for the next 7 years or so whilst he spends 15k on his next dozen cars!!!

 

 

I would not have sold it so quickly, and would have tried to sell it back to him: now you've spent over a "grand" getting it an MOT and fixing it up.

 

Incidently the new owner will have to declare the modification - None Standard wheels.

He's gone and bought a 59 plate Beemer now the "old scrap" is gone. A car is white goods to him and that's fair enough, he threw it away like I would a broken fridge.

 

The new owner of the Astra plans to haul her big slobbery dogs around in it so I doubt it's getting any more love than its been used to so far, but at least it's usefulness continues, I made some cash and got some free wheels.

 

I punted the JVC stereo it had in the boot for another 20 notes so all in a good deal.
