Car wireless not working

I have a aftermarket cd player in the shuma, some wharfedaleawiaiwamatsui tat from Argos.

 

It worked for years then the radio suddenly started to get a poor signal and now it wont work. CD player is fine. As the Santa Fe transfer box is costing £££ to fix and will be off the road for a bit im keen to get the old wireless back working.

 

Whats the best place to start? The Shuma has a metal telescopic ariel on the back wing.

If you can get a signal by putting an old screwdriver in the aerial on the back of the set, then its failure of the aerial, amplifier or a poor earth on the roof. Failing that its an internal fault in the set. Mine did the same.
