mouseflakes Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 I used to run a '72 Audi 100 GL and I usually asked any burly rear seat passengers to take the the battery out from under the seat and balance it on their lap to avoid a conflagration. Later I got hold of one of those ice cream trays, like they used to use in the cinema intermission, so passengers could suspend the battery at chest level and avoid mild acid burns to the thigh.
Rusty Pelican Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Dont like batteries in the cab , I drove a Merc 207d panel van with one under the drivers seat as standard , all was peachy until the alternator reg failed and started wopping 23Volts into the battery , this boiled the fucker and i got gassed out with battery fumes , puked up twice , unplugged the alternator after id recovered and drove home.Shite idea
