Not Swift anymore...

As you might have read in the news 24 thread I bought a lovely 2000 Suzuki Swift cirrus from a friend to learn to weld on and generally relearn all the stuff I forgot.

 

Main bit to work on is a lot of rust just behind the sills. Started by taking the insides out

 

 

 

No sign from inside how bad it is, as in no wet carpet. But there was a casualty when I broke a ratchet adapter.

 

Eventually I got to this

 

 

This being the worst bit inside

 

Not too bad and years ago I've assisted* on worse. It's bad from the outside though. Couldn't get any pics but it's like three layers peeling apart.

 

Conclusion is I need a trolley jack and more room to work. Mig welder is ordered and on its way hopefully this will lead to infrequent updates
