The first car I ever had was a one-owner-from-new (my great aunt!) Austin 1300 Mk3, it had some bad rust problems - I say bad, but experience has shown that it had got off pretty lightly compared to most. I could not fix it so I gave it to my mate who still has it.

I had an 1300 before I could drive (I was 15 or 16 at the time) and I too dismissed it as having terminal rot and flogged it for £40. In retrospect it had a hole in the floorpan which now would take me about ten minutes to fix but back then it seemed utterly beyond hope. Here it is...

Ironically my A35 was far worse off for rust...in fact it was totally shagged but undeterred I attempted to fix it with a large Pedigree Chum Mixer tin, some pop rivets and lots of wag. The previous owner had also made one of the rear chassis legs from a bit of wood. Needless to say it failed it's test in spectacular fashion... in fact the tester didn't even complete the test

purchased by my parents in 1994 to replace my mum's rotten a-reg metro. I got it in 2004 when 17, drove it to college and back for a few years then it took me to uni in coventry. I stoped using it as the gear box was getting progressivly more nackered. I brought my 323 off SpottedLaurel so had no more need for the micra, it got scrapped earlier this year.
