2014 Tour de France

Bonjour shitepeeps,

You may remember I recently posted that I was looking for a suitable 8 seater for a family trip to France. Ended up buying a Nissan Elgrand 3.2d after further online investigation.

This was the whip! Got the boîte de bader fluid replaced, installed new speakers and head unit for the Serge Gainsbourg and sorted an annoying clunk with new anti roll bar drop links. Inserted family and clothes and proceeded to cover 2k odd miles in supreme comfort!

We travelled from Holmfirth stopping in Folkestone, Cergy Pontoise, Marne le vallee (euro Disney), Macon and finally Mougins on the Côte d'Azur.

Van worked great, returning 27ish MPG overall on lovely cheap Gazole.

Really couldn't recommend Elgrands enough.

Anyway, here are some merde spots.

I'd have thought you'd have had enough of the TdF in Holmfirth! Good spotting, however!

Ha! We left the week before the TdF kicked off.

Still got the Elgrand, should be for sale shortly tho. Interested?

I've never heard of one of these Nissans, but as I've been in several airport cars in China & Taiwan I've probably been in one.

It looks pretty good, and full marks for the photos, dragging your family around to photograph knackered old cars is an excellent* way of bonding together on holiday

Nice Alfa, when I went to Le Mans Classic a few years ago we tented next to an Alfa like that (but in red).

I looked over his Alfa, he looked round my Datsun. We where both happy with what we had and slightly jealous of what we didn't.

Does anyone know if the Elgrand is veg friendly?

That´s the way it goes...

If you want to go to France, buy a french car so if someting brakes, they know how to repair it. Or buy something japanese and you will not need someone to repair anything...
