It's a fair old scratch. It looks like it's been rubbed against a bollard or gate post or similar.

If I'd have kept the car, I was going to rub it down and do a very localised repair.

It really shouldn't take much to make it look nice again.

I actually feel a bit guilty that this was overlooked.

To my shame, I should have made a point of drawing Dave's attention to it.

Complete oversight on my part.

Sorry Dave.

That gearchange is nice since I had a little play with the kickdown cable, isn't it.

Must admit, I had reservations about parting with it as the drive was so faultless, but the lure of the V70 overcame me.

Really glad you like it Dave.

How did you get on re V70

A faultless car collection caper Dave.

Overground/underground trains (or should I say cattletrucks) to Waterloo, then the 10.53 to Alton, Hants arriving at 12.10.

The lady picked us up from the station - actually one of the scattiest ladies I've ever come across, but lovely with it.

She put a bag of fruit pastilles in the glovebox for our journey back, how thoughtful.

Had a quick walk round the car, and a check of the levels, parted with cash monies, filled in reg document, drove home.

A pretty faultless journey to be honest.

Would you believe the worst part was from the Dartford Crossing to here in Rainham. What's that, about 4 miles?

Got back just after 2pm.

The V70 has its niggles, as you'll see from t'other thread I've started on here.

You don't want to bother with renovating that paint, what you REALLY want is a lovely set of chrome arches to hide it all and encourage rust to set up home.

I'd polish that out before some twunt in a NewNotSilverNow White moneypit accuses you of scraping their 14-reg burger bus.   It's happened to me.

I think this amusing scenario demonstrates that we have an equivalent to beer goggles that kicks in when we buy a car. All faults mysteriously vanish or are of no consequence!

I'm saying nothing!

Will you be needing a fascia adaptor too?

I was going to put an aftermarket cd player in it, but it sounded so good, I didn't like to disturb it.
