RGX aka 2RKE was forty on Sunday.

Fuck it  - I've had three goes but the flickr/autoshite interface has changed and whatever I try doesn't work. You'll have to imagine a pic of a blue Citroen DS.

Today I telephoned Divla to find out how to get my tax money back.

Its quite simple really,

Step 1. take the registration document to the post office having put the word HISTORICAL in the change of tax class bit and signed it. They then give you a new tax disc for a historical vehical/vehicle.

Step 2. download V14 form from Divla (google V14 DVLA is quickest way to find it, fill it in and send it orf with the old tax disc making sure you take selfies of you filling the form in. Go back to the Post Office and send it on its way with proof of posting.

 

I was quite impressed, the Germans only got as far as V3 as a method of pissing off British civil servants.

I tried this today, but the post office clerk replied with the usual 'computer says no'.

 

DVLA phone line said I need to send V5, V10, MoT and insurance certificate to Swansea for them to make the change.

 

This, of course, is completely different to what they told DSdriver, and I really don't want to send them all the car's paperwork if I don't need to. So I've sent them an email asking them to clarify the procedure in writing. Hopefully they'll answer in the near future, and I'll share their reply on here.
