Last month I bought a 2003 Rover 75 2.0 CDT Club to replace my Audi A4 1.9 TDi MKI that I’d had for nearly three years, I’d had so many problems with the A4 I just wanted rid before something else went.  This is the first Rover I’ve had in fact I’ve never owned anything from the BL stable.  I’d always wanted a 75 as they are so good looking and I kept reading great reviews about them so I thought I’d like it, but I didn’t realise how much, I love it, I’m seriously impressed with it I’ve never liked a modern car so much it drives wonderfully, plenty of power, good mpg and the build quality is excellent the bodywork is solid the interior feels very well made.  Mine is in pale gold with a tan interior it just oozes class, some people (motoring journalists) would put the Audi A4 on par or even above with the Rover 75 but the Rover outclasses it in every way looks/build etc, also its quiet, doesn’t smoke or stink of diesel like the Audi did. Unfortunately some jealous idiot has keyed the passenger door since I’ve owned it.

With the amount of online presence these are one car you can guarantee will have a strong classic following in years to come.

If you’ve got one/getting one clear the drain hole in the plenum chamber from debris, as it can fill with water and submerge the ECU, don’t remove the pipe just unblock it by shoving something down there.

They were built at two factories and one has better build quality than the other, some were built at the BMW factory in Cowley and some at the Rover factory at Longbridge.  The cars with the best build quality were from the Rover factory, the easiest way to tell is Longbridge cars have body coloured sills and Cowley cars have black painted sills.
