pompei Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 This is what I seem to have become ...http://www.grumpyoldsod.com/road%20bollox.asp
Ross_K Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Wow. At last a site I can identify with.I wonder if they'd let me write articles for them...
CortinaDave Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 The needless reduction in speed limits is one that annoys me.. since councils were given the power to set limits its been reduce this, reduce that... usually for no good reason.I have a main road near me with only woods on either side, its a nice wide straight road as well, yet courtesy of the council its now a 20mph zone with bumps. Grr!
55bloke Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 I concur!! There's a lovely dual-carriageway not far from us, passing through no residential area or near any schools- clearly designed for 60+ mph driving, and it has a 40mph speed limit. Why bother building expensive, fast roads, and then put stupid speed limits that no-one obeys on them? Not to mention a long stretch of the A1 in Lincolnshire which has been reduced to 50mph, with lots of speed cameras, as an "accident reduction scheme"! The cynic in me suspects it's just yet another way of increasing speeding fine revenue.
pogweasel Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Lets not forget the A40 Westway.... formerly known as the A40(M)... once national speed limit, now 30mph in places. Utterly, uttely stupid.
Richard Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 The dual carriageway from Dundee to Arbroath is like that. The speed limit goes up and down like a whore's drawers and you are never very sure what the limit is where you are.
pompei Posted October 19, 2008 Author Posted October 19, 2008 Another no-holds-barred rant site, as you'll no doubt glean from its title. Mr Bass and I had a chortle last nighthttp://www.grumpycunt.com/home.php
Cavcraft Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 With respect though how much is true and how much is scaremongering? I read that bit about manafacturers not selling parts to non-franchised garages but being honest it doesn't ring true. Local garages are openly saying in adverts they can service new cars without effecting warranty as it's aginst some EU law to stop them.
