Shite dirtbiking

A few weeks ago I got given back my old KE175d by my father in law.

I had the bike about 15 years ago as a field bike , blew it up , started restoring it but it got put to one side and forgotten . I ended up giving it to the fil for something to do in his retirement . He rebuild it to a good mechanical standard , rode it once and decided his back and knees werent up for it.

Then I got it back foc  :-D

Anyway , Mot d it last week and decided to take it on a trade plate shakedown run .

Did about 25 miles on and off road and apart from a blocked tank cap breather all was fine.

Does need lower gearing tho.

:-D Very nice taking things at a slower pace (usually ride a ktm 300 2t) and makes previously easy lanes more challenging.

Just trying to persude my trail riding chums to buy some old tat , infact one has already dug his '77 DT250 out of retirement.

Has shitefest in Wales got an off road element cos if it has I may take this along ( stuffed in the boot of something unsuitable obviously and spilling oil/fuel everywhere)post-17246-0-56109800-1385827890_thumb.jpgpost-17246-0-83676800-1385827929_thumb.jpg

Looking good, and possibly dare I say it, more apt for the lanes than the 300.

Air cooled 2 strokes are the pinnacle of dirt bike design when it comes to maintenance.

How much are those types of bikes, do they need a CBA? I'd love one as a runaround for the weekends.

They were the bike in the old classic Sega game 'Enduro Racer'

Full licence needed for the 175. 125 could be ridden on a cbt.

The 300 is the perfect bike on the lanes. Silly fast when you want to but like a trials bike most of the time. So much low end grunt. Not great on the road but my new one with the 6 speed box and leccy start isn't bad tbh
