Have my eye on a astra saloon on a v plate. It's a 1.8 cdx. I thought these where meant to be top spec. This one doesn't even look like its got front fogs? Is there anything these have that a ls trim doesn't?! It's got low miles, full history, both keys and two owners from new. Never seen a saloon up close either. Looks a bit strange!

CDX is basically 'giffer spec' that appeals to 'the more disconcerting of customer' (whatever that means). It has wood trim and stuff. Check out the mk2 CD and mk3 CDX. Just as the SXI was aimed at youngsters, even though the engines were just standard. CDX was the spec below GSi, in that they fitted everything. I'd love a mk3 CDX :)

Bit of placca wood on the console and 'Rhombus Velour' seat trim justifies the CDX tag. This, together with the 1.8 engine, which will be the X18XE1 small block with cable throttle and not that drive by wire shit and the fact that its a saloon makes it shite worthy and permits you to bellow the classic* truck driver comment 'It c'n pull'.

Sounds like quiet a pokey engine in it then! Only problem is its manual and I may struggle but the wife likes it. Do they have rear electric windows or trip computer? As mentioned about mk3 astras, they have front fog lamps and other mk 4 astras do but this doesn't. Can't really see what this has apart from wood dash that a mid range one hasn't got.
