listing for my dad

1989 Toyota Supra Non Turbo

bought in june this year to use during summer.

i bought it of a lad i know that had bought it for his wife while her car was in for repair. than decided to sell it, this is when i bought it.

but previous to that the car had only had 1 previous owner from new. with all mots from new.

11 months mot
cambelt done at 120000 miles in 2008 car now has 125000

this really is a good example of one of these with only having 1 owner for 23 years and they are now getting rare and going up in price,

paint is nice and bright, and doesnt need polishing to make it shine, so this is not like most red cars that fade,

good tyres all round

interior is in very good condition apart from 1 very small rip on drivers seat

the things i do have to note is that the rear inner arches need welding on both sides at the back but this is not structual and not an mot failure, slight bubbleing on the rear arch on drivers side.

advisory items on this years mot

001 Nearside rear torsion bar slightly deteriorated by corrosion
002 offside rear torsion bar slightly deteriorated by pitting
003 under-trays fitted obscuring some underside components
004 engine covers fitted obscuring some components in the engine bay

also car does not lock with key on drivers side, but does on passenger side and still locks with fob

£1500 cheap sports car for next year summer with 11 months mot.

tax untill the end of November

I stand by what I said, it needs welding to make it sound FFS.

You're not gonna be fighting them off with a mucky stick.

No, in his defense I reckon he'll fit right in (if he lets us kill the PTC with fire), check out the stuff in his intro thread:

Welcome along lad, just bear in mind that most of us are a bunch us are tight-arse mingebags!

this isnt even my car, i put it on here for my old man,

the cars worth what some one is willing to pay for it at the end of the day like any car is., someone came looking at it yesterday but as usual he cant buy it untill he has sold his car so basically a time waster but not a complete one as he actually turned up to view.

the welding isnt all that bad, and it could be left if your not that bothered, my dad got quoted £150 for it to be done, and he will get it done if he keeps it. just alot of these supra's have just had the inner and outers rear wings bogged.

maybe this car is not alot of peoples cup of tea on here, just like some of the cars on here are not mine, its each to there own,

my dad drives a £300 fiat uno round as his daily and he thinks it brill, just this year with shows as he owns a 60's chevy that didnt get used much as he was using the toyota, so next year he wants to use the chevy more and get rid of this .

and the reason i joined the forum as im 19 and into my old cars, ive got 2 reliant rebels, ive had quite alot of other cars aswell ive been brought up with classic americans and classics all my life, dont mean to be funny but least i have a hobby unlike most lads my age that do drugs and sit in front of the game console all day long,

oh yes i must say, everything ive owned i have bought with the money ive earnt, my mummy and daddy have brought me up to well to give me a car and pay for my insurance, they have brought me up to stand on my own 2 feet.

yes by all means you can set fire to the ptc i had alot of trouble with that, but the guy who bought it, is now turning it into a retro custom van like i said before its each to there own.

The Supra is well fit, always liked them just not in white, maybe because it shows up the rust.

They're my fave Toyota, used to pick them up for peanuts in the nineties, they'd be offloaded in a panic stricken flurry because of 'OMG HGF failure design fault money pit,' easy enough to fix and would only need doing once. Double wishbone suspension you know.

The fastest I've ever been is flat out in a Turbo version of one of these in 91, aged 21. Took me back in time, so cheers for sharing and GLWTS.

Personally, I like to see things for sale on here, good bad or ugly, coz you never know what I might collect next.
