Req: XR3i's in scrapyards

Hi,

 

I'm slowly trying to get my XR3i back on the road, its a 1988 Mk4 in Mercury Grey. I'm amazed how few tin tops are coming up in searches in the usual places as being broken for spares. 

 

I've tried a couple of local breakers but when you say Mk4 Escort they just seem to laugh, or they've got a Mk4 1.3L 5 door in stock and thats it. 

 

I've found one Merky grey one at Motorhog in Doncaster, but it was a write-off job and so very little of the body is of any use because its such a mangled wreck. Ebay flags up Cabrios and thats about it.

 

If anbody has seen any dumped in scrapyards, I'd love to know as I need all the help I can get.

He also owns about a dozen, himself.

I guess they laugh as they haven't had cars from that era (late eighties) in for years it's mostly early noughties cars now.
