Yes, such a thing does exist, and was held in Limerick last month.

Whilst there was lots of this...

There was also some better stuff in the car park:

From the title I imagined it would be loads of souped-up JCB’s, Transit tippers and road marking lorries but that actually looks quite decent

Ireland allowed road racing long after the English authorities banned it and therefore has a terrific motor racing heritage.   Really great shots of very nice cars and I hope it remains free from mouth-breathing, F1 obsessed, fart cannon-ed barries longer than Goodwood Festival did.

Stupid question amnesty, please.

With the obvious exception of that half arsed Celica, were there any Irish registered cars at this festival?

The Pug's on a pre-1987 Dublin county plate IIRC, which looks about right.

Also, the Fuego is also on a Dublin county plate from March '85 to Jan '86 - again, seems about right.

Most of the proper exotic tin was from the UK / Norn Iron, but many many Irish registered cars in attendance.

Unfortunately the road tax system is such, that there's a real no man's land for chod...Especially larger engined stuff.

If it's over 30, you're laughing; if it's under 30, and has anything larger than a 2.0 under the bonnet, you're stuffed.

i.e. Buy this fine* children & pet lugger for the bargain price of £595

Then pay the Irish government £1560 to tax it for a year.

Hmmmm. This seems to have killed all the V6 Mondeos / Cavaliers / Lagunas etc.

Anyway, there was some chod on the sprint circuit:
