autofive Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 I bought this se6a last week with the intention of breaking it but once i looked at the interior and chassis I would rather offer it for sale (just to get my money back) as its far too good to breaktwos thing to mention straight away: its 400 quid. And thats a firm price, as I paid 400 for it.and its in Durham, but i can arrange a delivery via a professional company (not shipley) if thats your bag.so, a bloke rang me last week to tell me his mate had a scimitar to sell, after much argi bargi, pointless phone calls with vague description of 'been in storage for over 20 years' and constant badgering, the price was whittled down to 400 quid. OWE655R finally arrived late on friday nightdvla says:The vehicle details for OWE 655R are:Date of Liability 01 01 1991Date of First Registration 01 01 1977Year of Manufacture 1977Cylinder Capacity (cc) 2994ccCO2 Emissions Not AvailableFuel Type PETROLExport Marker NVehicle Status UnlicensedVehicle Colour BROWNVehicle Type Approval Not Available the story seems to be true: 22 and a half years of storage after the heads were removed to have unleaded valve seats fitted. The car (in 1991) was in the ownership of Tony Baker, he of Tony Baker Racing Developments Ltd.The car arrived with no keys, and while moving it the steering lock engaged, so i had to remove the steering column shroud to free it. The seller is waiting for the V5c to be returned in their name, so no docs either. Its a manual car, with overdrive and according the speedo 16K (more likely 116K) milesbodywork seems to be in very good order, the primer is over burgundy paint, so you could leave in primer or prep and paint overbumpers look very good and rear lights look new. Headlights are inside the car.the engine (which is being removed) is seized, but all ancillaries, cables, linkages, pipework, radiator etc will remain with the car.only two bits of damage to the bodywork1. bonnet catch area has some cracking (looks like someone has tried to pull the car forward holding the body), easily rectified with GRP patching2. towball through the front panel? the two pieces are in the car, again, easily rectified with GRP patchingunderside:the chassis is in cracking condition, the outriggers are all excellent, and the main chassis in very good order too. The body hoop plates are both in good conditionfront suspension and brakes all look good as do the rear, no leaks from the power steering or rear axle.interior:unrippled dashtop, all gauges are there apart from the clock. since this photo was taken i have removed the steering column surround, see photos below drivers seat has a tiny amount of rubbing to the piping, otherwise very goodpassenger seat and rear seats, no damagecarpets need a good valet, but all there and not rotten or torncentre console is the boot (some cracking and a repair), along with the door cardsboot carpet, headlining, and side plastic mouldings all in very good condition.one seat belt needs replacing as its frayed.Box of interior screws and fixings inside the car.the parts needed to complete I can supply for an extra cost of 150 quid:engine - I have a very good engine, standard bores, photos available, removed from an auto se6a one engine mount rubberpassenger side seat beltrear hatch and fasteningslock set and steering columnone rear fog lamp lenseyou will still need a carb, exhausts, rear reg. plate and four tyres to get it through an MOTimportant bit: I really need a quick sale on this car, (a quick decision anyway) or it will have to be broken for spares. I have rent to pay and mouths to feed. I can store the car for a short period for a buyer, (once the asking price has been payed) but after the 1st of july will cost to store.Feel free to PM me to ask ask questions, request specific photos or arrange to view
