See what I did there..?? Anyway, got that rush again, everything is falling into place for my latest shite purchase, and this time I've actually got what I set out to get, an MGFNONVVCNOHGF :D

Insurance. Check.

Contact owner. Check

Collection. Check- handy having a tow truck at my disposal on such a quiet day :)

Its a dark blue one, and has an MOT!! More details and pics to follow as it happens. Just like BBC breaking news, but with a chipped mug and a lot of Lambert and Butlers.

Mrs Tiff started a new job last week, and has kindly donated some( read grudginly handed over, to be used against me for many months)of her first pay packet. That'll cost me... Scooters is taking over guardianship of the Executive, and the AA kindly kept it insured for a few days until he can arrange collection- it's still in the garage awaiting a wash and hoover to make him look his best.

I feel like Hannibal on days like these, but I ain't gettin on no 'plane.

That is UNCANNY. I bought a blue MGF (with VVC, no OMGHGF yet) on Friday as well!

Also dark blue with MOT and I have been blezzing around in it very happily! :D

Well, the MGF is home, the updates didn't really go to plan due to other folks having issues with their moderns, which has to take priority.. Good news is I've had a good chance in between to look it over, the bad news is that the list of work required is as long as a fat lads reciept from KFC.On turning up to view the car it was running really lumpy, but the rest of the car seemed fine so I took a chance...turns out it's burnt a valve, so it's a fashionable 3 pot for the moment. The headlights were wired up back to front, the brake lights were stuck on, the window stops are broken, the rear window is sliced, the hood has had a patch, the gearlever is floppy, no spare wheel or tools, the key is just about ready to break, only 1 fob, the speakers are ripped, the wiper motor shield is missing, the passengers sunvisor is broke, the horn didn't work and there are loads of wee clips and screws needing sorted out. A Fine example all in all.

The service book tells me it had a new MLS gasket and cambelt, along with a full service in 2011, and there are no signs of cooling or gasket issues, but it's the same amount of work anyway that is needed. bugger.

Upsides?

It starts first time, charges itself and has no signs of cooling issues, the exterior and interior will clean up nicely and as an Ex Rover tech I've done loads of these so know what I'm getting into. It's still MOT'd till September and I drive the van most days so no great panic as it's not a daily.

Superb! Your one seems to be far fitter than mine- that photo has just made it as my new desktop background, cracking pic!
