Malta Shite - Cars, commercials and buses

Uploaded a silly number of photos from Malta, where a lot of old chod is still hanging on for dear life.

 

Cars - still quite common to see a lot of old chod still being driven around, particularly early Daewoos, Hyundais, Skodas, Ladas, Marinas, Cortinas and Hillman Hunters as daily drivers. Some of the retro Fords are now at Classic Status even here and well restored examples can be found out cruising at weekends.

 

 

Commercials - Getting much rarer to see elderly stuff on the road, the Maltese government is splashing cash about to subsidise upgrading of commercial stuff. However it is still possible to see Ergomatic cab AEC's & Leylands, Super G cabs and T45's in daily use plus a lot of very vintage Bedford stuff.

 

 

I will get around to adding the buses soon, I was able to visit the store of the old vintage yellow buses but have been asked not to show the pictures from the site. However on the trip we found a lot of vintage stuff still in use as private buses for contracts etc. The Arriva operation is predictably dull and quite down at heel.

Thanks for sharing these Hammy. There's some special stuff out there, I particularly enjoyed the Mazda 1500 estate, and the little orange Maz 800 (?). Also the blue Dacia crew cab. Yeah baby!
