WANTED Rover 45 Haynes manual

Recommended Posts

Actually I only want a diagram showing which pins do what on the ECU connector on a 45 diesel, and what wires go to where on the diagnostic socket.

If anyone has a Haynes or other wiring diagram that they can sell or lend please let me know.

thanks to hairymel I have this

ecu1_zpsb4168fc7.jpg

I think that this means that

Pin 39 is ignition switched +12V

Pin 35 is ignition switched +12V

Pin 58 is K line (assuming that ECD3 means an L-series)

unfortunately none of the pictures show what pins are earth on the ECU

Wiring diagrams in Haynes manuals can be really poor

i think that is the probably the right one :D

the diagram shows the harness (car side plug) the ecu has no pins where they are not used

might be wrong though

no more free tec support tonight, i have to go collect a drunken o/h now

pm with useful pdf's in your inbox :P

it worked, so no more tech help needed.

thanks

only thing is that this ECU seems to be EOBD compliant and I didn't think that Rover 45s were...

looks like I need an older ECU

wtf are you trying to do?

the ecu will give you some info with a k line type (vag) cable but not let you clear codes etc (possibly)

yes I remember now. With these you can read live data but you can't read error codes unless you go into secure mode first.

wtf are you trying to do?

reverse engineer the diagnostics protocol. The secure mode will be a challenge.

The first one is the owners manual.

The second one requires me to hand over a credit card number, which I'm not that keep on doing.

Yeah, you need to click on the one that says 'free download'

Autoshite is probably not the place for useful help in your quest, although in my experience the more on topic forums are not chock full of info/help either

i don't have the skill set to help you i am afraid.

my only thoughts would be to dump a relavent Sykes Pickavant ACR module to see what that's doing.

It's not the first one I've done. More like the twentieth, and the third with security features. Still if anyone has an ACR they want to lend me....
