Carbuettor float repair

Got an annoying niggle on the Anglia - the float in the carb is leaking. I couldn't see any visible leaks or perforations but I repaired it before by going over the soldered seam with a soldering iron and some fresh solder. Got plenty of heat into and did a nice wet solder joint from what I could see. It lasted a year but it's filling up again. Any recommendations for repair products or just do again as I did before? I was sort of half tempted to fill it with expanding foam but I'm sure it would go wrong and make it run crap.

Probably best to just re solder it. Any repair products, such as chemical metal etc would possibly bugger up the float height due to the weight increase. Suspect that expanding foam would react badly to petrol and just dissolve into a heavy soggy mess, ruining the float and possibly the carb/jets.

An annual soldering session ( or a replacement float ) seems the way to go here.

I used Chemical Metal on a float in a tank once, but it eventually let by. I figured the expanding foam route would probably end up in disaster/misery somehow and there's the added problem of the float height being different. I think re-soldering is probably the best route then.
