Here's autoshiting at it's lowest possible level!

 

To serve African market demand we re-imagine the car. We heavily simplify our product by excluding costly technologies such as air con, interior fixtures and even glass windows while maximising function with relevant suspension, handling and storage.

 

Six thousand dollars will (eventually) get you this shitetastic, 8 seater.

There already is a (mostly non-Shite) Car For Africa. It's made by a little Japanese company called Toyota, and is called a Hilux 4x4 pick-up.

There are plenty of them still surviving here in the deep south, the pre 1994 manufactured ones seem to be quite indestructible, mine had 3 careless owners and 308K miles but still goes and passes state inspection (so it still has 4 wheels and headlights)

 

They are not badged "Hilux" here in the US, they are just called "pickup" and are fairly basic spec, my DLX has PAS, A/C, cloth seats and chrome bumpers - that is about as "lux" as they get.

The 22RE engines only weakness is that the timing chain tensioner fails and the timing chain wears a hole in the casing straight through to the water pump, new chain and tensioner every 100K and you should see over 400k.
