Ugbrooke House Classic Car Show 16/9

On a whim, I decided to pop down to Ugbrooke House near Exeter to have a nose round a classic car show. Not a bad way to spent a couple of hours really, lots of variety on show and it seemed much more informal and relaxed than one or two I've been to in the past.

Have a few photos:

Apparently owned for over 20 years by the people who restored it, not my cup of tea at all but I really like this for some reason. Colour really suits it.

Tidy and big.

This was absolutely immaculate and nicely original. Probably worth ££££s.

I had to walk round the back to find out what this was, seen it once before at another show nearby.

Never knew they made these, I never liked the styling of the estates but this is nicely proportioned.

Pleasingly shabby and original.

Pretty sure I've never seen an early one like this before apart from in photos. This one was spotless but I'd imagine they're pretty stodgy to drive.

And to finish off, this looked great and sounded great when it left the show early, V8 I do believe.

There's 30 images in all if anyone wants more: http://photobucket.com/ugbrookecarshow

Yes, that thing was absolutely huge. Not sure what was under the bonnet but whatever it has, it won't be in a low tax bracket!

Now I feel silly

I'd guess at least 5 litres and 8 cylinders. OK in the USA but in this country, particularly on Devon roads, it must be a handful.

Isn't that what one of the mobs in Get Carter had?

More likely closer to 8litres. And they seem to shrink around you after you drive them for a short while...
