bigstraight6 Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 I made the wrong decision and went along to the Honiton Hill rally yesterday after continual heavy rain down here for the last few days, the conditions were horrendous as I found out just after entering the rally field and the Triumph sliding almost broadside on the slope down to where all the cars on display were parking, much to the amusement of people sat in the adjacent beer tent! this is the entrance shortly after with a Volvo well and truly stuck.... The Triumph finally parked up, but stuck!Traction engine stuck! This vehicle seemed to get around the field without problem I didn't take many pics of exhibits due to being thoroughly fed up, the exception was this lovely barn found Morris....
carlo Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Surprised they didn't cancel it, like the Powderham Castle show last month (discovered after driving 30 miles and finding no-one there.)
Mr Lobster Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 I feel your pain. I've had a van towed out of too many fields due to an excess of mud this year. Worst was probably CamperJam at Weston Park - you virtually needed waders to get around. Trouble is, virtually no show organisers will cancel a show as that means giving refunds to all those with prebooked tickets and traders and they don't want to be doing that at all.
panhard65 Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Looks like that was fun then. I went last year and there was a fair bit of mud so I am glad I missed it now. I went to a show at mark moor up near weston super mare where we had no mud at all. I will post some pictures up later this week some lovely cars and a bit of tat as well
Cavcraft Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Aye, Kelsall Steam/Vintage only lasted one day (instead of two) this year due to mud/weather.
Negative Creep Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Got to love the Devon weather. At least I get some shadenfreude (sp?) Over the locals who didn't spend their Bank Holiday stuck in an office. Still, that's global warming for you
