Can Am car show Wimborne Sunday

There must be a few American car fans on here so here's a flavour of this American car club event I tried out yesterday. I've a particular loving for 50s and early 60s american tin, ideally as original as possible. Unfortunately I seem to be in the minority as 75% of all the cars there were modified or hot-rodded to some degree - guess that's the fashion. Certainly a friendly bunch though, if you ignore the stares I was getting whilst photographing the Dodge Polara below. Have to start with the Studebaker Hawk, beautiful car, and where else would you see one?

You can see just how these Yanks directly influenced some of the British car designers of the day. The Stude is surely inspiration for the Sunbeam Rapier and the Customline must have been in the back of the mind of the Consul's creator.

I love the representations of extravagance and optimism which show through in those 50's and early 60's designs.

And the Velox above is a virtual carbon copy of the similar vintage Chevy

...and the Oldsmobile tail light obviously inspired the Mk1 Cortina's 'CND' style effort.

Love the Buick Invicta too, looks enormous! :D

I'm intrigued by this Jensen now, can't find anything about this one on interweb. Any ideas? Here's a back view.

The Jensen details are

Year of Manufacture 1969

Cylinder Capacity (cc) 3996cc

CO2 Emissions Not Available

Fuel Type PETROL

Export Marker N

Vehicle Status Licence Not Due

Vehicle Colour PURPLE

Very odd looking at the cc the engine ( I thought) might be from a 541, those rear lights look like it.

edit : it's a modern V8 Jaguar engine.
