Save an old Landy! (Now with pics)

I loved my 1981 Series III Landy for some years, but, owing to divorce and stuff, the old thing has been languishing in a friend's field in Norfolk for the last few years, It now needs lots of work to make it runnable again. The chassis is probably rough, and the bulkhead too. The electrics may be foofed. The diesel engine and the gearboxes seemed OK. It has a whiny Fairey Overdrive. The tyres are proper old fashioned tall and thin knobbly Michelins, great on most surfaces (except sand), and there are with several spare wheels and tyres, one of which is on the bonnet, as it should be.

The car has a safari roof, bench seats in the back, and seat belts for seven people.

The car also has a complete donor car that goes with it, in which the engine and gearboxes may perhaps be better than those in the main car.

I shall post later some pics of the car in happier days. At present, you may safely assume that it is covered in goose shite and looking doggy.

Make me an offer, please!

Apols, I thought that I had a bunch here on my work PC, but it turns out that they are at home on my laptop. i will post some up later. Meanwhile, treat your imagination with visions of a brush painted shite khaki and green heap of spanners. The car was blue when new, and still is inside. It was a farm truck in real life, but I swapped the van roof for the safari roof from the donor car. Very Daktari classy.

Ah ha, I have now found some pics that I put up on Pistonheads a while back. Please see above.

NB: this was the car when semi-spifficated, before it reverted to choddery.

Awesome! I love it, just imagining it looking like crap now haha. Do you have a rough idea on a price?

I'm not a landy person, but my brother is (and he lives in Norfolk) I'll give him a nudge ;)

Maybe 600 ish for the main car with the spare wheels and tyres, and 100 or so for the donor car, OVNO.

Evening, I am the afore mentioned brother of Skattrd^^^^^.

Loving the pics of the landy and am currently looking for a resto project. How bad is the chassis/bulkhead are we talking weldable patches or is it complete cheese?

If it is worth saving and not a chassis replacement job I would be interested in knowing what you want for it. :D

Oh and whereabouts in Norfolk is it?

The car is in the Burnhams, as is the donor car. I believe that the chassis and bulkhead would be patchable, but am not sure. See above - say 700 for the two cars with the spare wheels and tyres?

Ooooh V close to me, I'm in Wells.

I'd like to have a look at it if possible as I said before if it's repairable I'd be interested but I really can't afford a replacement chassis at the mo'

The Sandy Landy was a regular visitor to Wells dump, back in the day, dropping off household and field rubbish. I will email my friend who has the Landies in his field. He is not at the coast all of the time, but is there quite often.
