The opening of this second video sounds very much like the intro to My Way as sung by Sid Vicious - how queer.

In the first film...

 

"These cars have quality"

 

"Tested for quality.  Every stage, every part."

 

Then the white 1800 model which comes towards us at 3'28" has the sort of alignment between the bonnet and nearside front wing that you'd expect to see after a dodgy accident repair in a railway arch.

Martin Buckley (he of Classic and Sportscar fame) has just got one of these, a white Austin 1800HL. He says that if another manufucturer like Audi had made it, it would be much better regarded.

Yes they were badly made, but even if Ze Germans or Italians built them, there would still be only about 3 left.
