As a "Modern Toss" fan, the Renault 4 van wins forever :D

I believe that the 6-Series drag car is owned by a chap who works for the company I currently work for. Ditto the blue Mercedes truck and the Cortina in the background :)

Damn it man. I was there too, along with El Watanabe, Kev from Wales and a multitude of others (who I didn't see....)

Wasn't a bad day at all.

the beemer was truly impressive , the bodywork looked better than it came out of the factory, and it was my favorite colour 8)

i only got to chat to andy (hardcore) when i dropped off some bits for the godlike bickle.

I've seen it in the metal, too, and although I prefer the standard 6 Series, I concur that it's a truly impressive piece of kit :)

The car's owner also has an X-reg Cortina 2.0GL which he is slowly restoring to standard spec :D

To be honest I spent most of the day wandering about aimlessly as I had a tw@ of a headache from the minute I woke up. Went down in the car with Jon and KFW, so that was amusing enough.

That 6 series was nicely built but didn't seem to actually be that quick.

The afternoon after most of the retro rides brigade buggered off I spent watching the racing.

My fotoskillz are crap, but I'll just leave these here....

Fun times in the Volvo, there.

The knackered shocks meant that it reared up like a planing speedboat - the track photographer thought it was RWD. My best time was 16.8 seconds for the quarter mile with a trap speed of 79 mph. Dismal. The dampers also wreaked havoc on the 160 mile trip down - the NSR tyre kept twatting the arches on rebound.

The RYWB was delayed repeatedly by the shit weather, and I didn't take many photos because of a lens \ sensor fuck up on my D60. Plus, I couldn't really be arsed - I keep missing the best bits of shows because I've got a camera to feed.

Top banter with Pete - M and KFW, also.

Still, I beat a [probably shagged] Mk2 Golf 8v, so that made it worthwhile. :D
