For Sale Citroen BX16TGS Automatic, 48,000 miles

In the quest for funds for moving house, something has to give and it is the car I use the least.

Citroen BX 16TGS Auto - giffer spec

My BX has done all of 47950 miles from new, with history to prove it (including mileage record in a small notebook by first owner, who had the car from new until c. 2007.

It went through a couple of pairs of hands, including a serial BX owner in West Yorkshire, who I purchased it from in April last year.

It is currently MoT'd till April 2013 and, with the addition of tax, could be driven away, having just had a brand new exhaust system fitted.

It has, as you know, giffer dents, including a rather mangled rear door - there is a replacement door supplied with the car. It has herring bone tweed upholstery and there is a small hole in the driver's seat - otherwise they are all nice and comfy. Suspension works as it should and it starts on the key every time.

I would like £500 for it as it stands - no cheeky offers (in fact, no offers as at £500 for a reliable, classic it is cheap) as I can live with it if needs be.

The BX 16 has 90bhp, can move when it needs to and is a hoot to drive, even in two pedal variety. It handles well and this one has no rust in the usual places - solid and dependable, it could cope as an everyday car or as a weekend toy.

All the electrics work, the suspension and engine works and it has done 0.5 miles since its MoT.

I'll take £500 and you can have a free swizzel stick.

It isn't my fault you live on 'the road to Grimsby'

aka and included in the Profanisaurus as the definition of "The bit between a womans arsehole and her vagina".

ie "the A15 from Hull - A route that stinks of fish and ain't far from a shit-hole"

Can I spend ages dicking you about asking lots of dumb questions about the dented door and the lack of a spare wheel and then say, "Nah, I'll leave it M8 - I don't like automatics"?

Is it the new shape? My Dad doesn't like it. The paint looks great, is it? Are the wheel bearings ok? I get them and shock absorbers mixed up. Do you have any Golfs for sale? Is it good on fuel? I drive 67,000,000 miles a year, all of them flat out whilst watching TOWIE repeats on my iPhone. I need a car that's under £1000 and does at least 700MPG. My arsehole is sore from the last time I visited Carcraft. This nice man called Mark sold me a Laguna.

it is the new shape - Mk2, don't you know. Your dad doesn't like it? Just tell him it was designed by the same guy who designed the Lamborghini Countach. The bearings are fine and you're lucky, it has no shock absorbers - that causes lots of hilarity when you go to quick fit and they try to sell you some. I have a golf ball I can throw into the deal! It is good on fuel - if you're BP. It'll do 67 000 000 per year if you can keep up. Flat out - you can do it at three different heights, none of this lowering nonsense! The car does it for you. If you fancy some Police Camera Action too, just let the green blood run low and watch the steering, suspension and brakes go ...

It is priced under a grand, and you can charge the iphone up using the 12v power socket and a suitable lead. It does 700mpg no problem (that is metres per gallon, isn't it?). You bought a Laguna, you are a man with impeccable taste and a Citroen will be just up your street.

Good luck with the sale etc :) I certainly hope you have better luck than me, I haven't even had a viewing on mine yet. Next week I'll do the old-fashioned 'advertised locally' thing and see what occurs. Typically, the front struts have started grumbling again (bloody cars, why do they go wrong when you're trying to sell them!).

I'm not expecting to sell mine!! And my struts are non creaky!

It'll get taxed next month if it is still here - she had her weekly start last night - up she went, ran for fifteen mins and then down she went!

Is that swap not tempting you!

The XM flew through her MoT - a couple of bushes, new tyre and windscreen wiper blades.
