Jack_Harpers_Teeth Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 THIS IS REAL. It comes from the November 1962 edition of Practical Motorist (I found some old car magazines at the tip a while back). Question is...if you need to write in the directions then surely it easier to write them on a note pad anyway? Anyhow...it's raining...you could be bored...you been wondering what to do with that old tobacco tin?
Skizzer Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 That's basically the same thing Denis Jenkinson famously built to navigate the Mille Miglia with Stirling Moss in 1955: http://www.stirlingmoss.com/node/366 They won, of course. I see from Sir Stirling's website that you can buy a replica, complete with course notes.
Negative Creep Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Or even earlier, c.1930 http://www.retronaut.co/2010/10/satnav-c-1930/
