I don't think in my entire driving history I've ever been down to just two vehicles!

Here they are though. My selfbuilt luxury motorhome which I've had for seven and a half years and my daily driver as from next tuesday the Getz. I bought the Getz from my sister last year, which she has had since new but her step son had a bit of an accident in it. I've repaired it and modified it a bit and will use it as my daily runaround.

Later in the year I'll be on the lookout for a Nissan Laurel, just because I've always wanted one and never owned one :)

That would have made a nice sized camper too!

One of the many things I like about the mk2 is it hasn't got all the electrical gizmos controlling the engine therefore it's always reliable. Just an old fashion mechanical pump.

I actually really rate those Ivecos, many an entertaining journey in my former employer's 35.10 boxvan...

Likewise! I've spent many an entertaining mile in one of the 10 refrigerated panel vans* we had at Ralph Livesey Ltd in Preston. P110, 112 TCW on the long wheelbase, 113/4 and R201-6 HCW on the regular chassis. R207 was ordered at the same time for the parent company, but being an 18-tonne Cargo that required a curtainsider/tail-lift body built on, plus coachpainting, it wasn't delivered until 6 months later. Now what possible use could that information be to any of us!

*The panel vans had a strong tendency to drop the front edge of the sliding side door. Admittedly we were using those doors several hundred times a day, and most people were quite rough with them. The stereo is in a particularly stupid place: down by the driver's ankle! I'm pretty sure all the vans mentioned above have now been broken up for parts.

Would love to see more pics of the Iveco. What have you done to the interior?

I don't seem to have up to date pics of the van interior so I'll take some this week.

Meanwhile here are some of my old gems. Sorry they're a bit grainy they weren't very good paper photos scanned.

The first is my old 125p with 2litre twin cam fiat engine and box ( as seen on the FSO uk owners club fb page)

This one was my last FSO sold in 1994. The taxi signs were stolen from my friends neighbours taxi for the photoshoot :D

Those of you on my facebook list and on the FSO Owners club page will already know this but I'm in the process of trying to buy an FSO Caro from Poland at the moment with the help of my friend in Germany and a Polish friend of his to translate for us. After a bit of toing and froing of emails, the deal seems to be going well at the moment and Mr FSO is happy to drive the car to nearer the border of Germany and my friend will meet him in Poland to collect the car and drive it to his house in Chemnitz, Germany. That's where it will staying for a little while until I renew my passport which expired in December and then I'll get a cheap flight to Germany.

Keeping my fingers crossed for now it'll all go to plan.

OH YES!!!!!!!!! Good luck Steve. Don't go without your camera, will you?

Thanks. This will be a great photo opportunity. I'll probably stay over there for a week or so when the time comes and my friend lives in Chemnitz which is quite near the czech border so should be plenty of Eastern European Gems around. I'll just make sure I buy a bigger memory card for my camera before I go.
