hi everyone, the renault 14 gtl i had on ebay and on gumtree is still available, it was bought to restore but work commitments have postponed it, if hasnt gone by nextweekend it will be going back into storage at my unit in ledbury for a while longer.

Yes, thanks Ben for letting us look at it. I think it will be extremely hard to find a donor car for the doors, bonnet and possibly sills; although I reckon they will need to be welded all over again.I loved the interior,just a bit of a clean and it will look fine. Guys I don't think I can afford to get this and all the extra new parts that will be required to get in on the road again.Pete, (Theorganist) please go and view it!!!!!!

Alpus I was hoping you were going to say you'd agreed to buy it, still lets hope someone on here does would love to read a build thread on this. Couldn't the doors/bonnet be patched, I know its time consuming but it can be done as long as they aren't totally gone. It could always be stored and when some doors/a bonnet are found then the restoration can commence.

Well the guy selling this has gone very quiet!

 

He contacted me on Friday leaving his mobile and told me to contact him (that day) to arrange a viewing to see it over the weekend. This I duly did and have not heard anything, have contacted him since twice and still nothing so I think it is safe to say its not going to happen, not for me anyway.

 

He did say if it didn't sell he was going to put it in storage but also he was having his drive tarmaced on Monday. I did warn him that there was no way I could take the car with me this weekend if I decided to have it!

 

So maybe it will be put away for another fifteen years!
