Did anybody see the news today about Tony Nicklinson and locked in syndrome?

He was an old colleague of mine from Hong Kong and what a terrible situation to be in. :?

It was terrible seeing him like that...he was a real character.

Get in touch. He'd appreciate it I reckon! I'd prefer to be 6ft under than like that....... I can fully empathise after seeing my 6'7" Dad wither away 5 years ago, due to Pick's disease.

In case anybody didn't know what I was talking about this was the news:

I actually got a message from his daughter to send my details and she'd pass them on to Tony.

I'd imagine his life will be fairly hectic since this court case, so I'm not certain if he'll have me at the top of the list of things to do, poor bugger has a lot on his mind I'm sure.

This is how he looked when I knew him :(

Send one anyway...... you never know, it might just give him some comfort to know he's not forgotten.

Yeah, get in touch!

I sympathise with him and think the law should be changed. If he was a pet, he would have been put out of his misery.

Get in touch, without a shadow of a doubt. I'm sure he'd be happy to know people are thinking of him.

Really is heartbreaking, this type pf thing. Why does it always seem to strike down the best people?

I'll certainly be in touch if I get an email from him (its in the hands of his daughter right now) and I've contacted all of our mutual acquaintances, so that they know about his predicament and at least have a chance to make contact before he makes his ultimate decision..

I wonder if you should get together as the old gang....?? That might be a real treat for him. Even if he can't join in the carousing, he will possibly feel happier within, to know he won't be forgotten in a hurry. A sort of "wake" before the inevitable, so he can actually witness the good feelings about him. I take it he still has his hearing?

An aunt of mine's just been diagnosed with this disease and it's bloody horrible to see how she's changed in the last few months. That said, Tony Nicklinson's situation is truly terrible. My thoughts go out to him & his family. At the risk of repeating the earlier points, do send a message-at least they'll all know we're thinking of them at this time.
