HELP! Pug 405 ignition he broken!

This morning the spring back/cranking bit of the ignition gave up, had to turn it back by hand, now the lock seems to have totally collapsed with the car on the Run/On position*

Soemthing metallic went clunk so I think the barrel's collapsed inside. How do you pull the igntion barrel from it?

It's a 94 Peugeot 405 TD.

Secret on/off switch somewhere else?

usually something along the lines of - steering cowling off, key in and turn to acc/on position. press a release tab on side of mechanical barrel and pull out with key. should leave electrical switch at bottom of housing. Or, take cowling off, remove electrical switch from rear of housing. Or summat. Say, a scaff.

as he said, as far as I know

I would disconnect the battery first as there are some big fat unswitched power cables going to the back of the switch
