W210 Diesel 'Black Death' issue

Does anyone have any experience of repairing a W210 Diesel injector seal? A mate's car has developed the 'black death' the car has been in the dealer several times to sort this and they have decided not to diagnose it for him probably hoping he will trade it in for a new one.

 

I sussed the problem in 5 mins and explained to him that it is a tricky repair but really needs to be done as it cokes the engine up big time and fills the cabin with diesel fumes.

 

I know it is a straightforward but fiddly repair - has anyone done it before? If so any chance we could have a chat over the phone about it? Please note that the repair proceedure is specific to Mercs of the period as the tricky bit is getting the flippin injectors out the car - a job that should take 20 mins but actually takes all day!
