Dan, you forgot to mention that the powers be decree that it is fine to pay for your tax disc at the post office but to get refund you have to fill in another form, make sure you tick the sorn box and then post it with recorded delivery so you lose yet another £1.40 out of your refund. Why the hell can't you just walk in and get a refund over the counter?

The easiest way would be to scrap it entirely and put a few pence on fuel. No way of avoiding it, nothing for the DVLA to fuck up, money saved on the admin side, none of this CO2 bollocks. The more you drive to more you pay - easy

 

The reason they will never do this is they don't want 2,000 extra people on JSA in Swansea, there's enough already!

 

(I know Doovla does other stuff, but road tax renewal must be 60-70 % of the workload)

they didn't give a monkeys about making loads of redundancies at BAE and that also had a huge knock-on effect with the supply chain too.
