Cheap "quality" digital camera at Tesco. Fujifilm on a "Cheaper than half price" special offer, now sub £40.

Advertised as a 10megapix on the box, but we got it home, opened it up and it's a 14MP with a note apologising for the switch! So they're all likely to be like that. Okay, it only has a 3x optical zoom, but you can afford a bit of digi-zoom at 14MP.

At that price it can live in the glove box to avoid the "today I saw a Horizon with tidemarks and an odd door, but I didn't have my camera".

Last year I bought a Fuji for my mother, it has traveled all over with her and has been superb, so at £39.97 you can't go too far wrong. I didn't note when this promotion ends, so find the number of your local hub of world domination and ask 'em.

No. Jessops are a bunch of miserable shits.

 

Jessops are like the Halfords of the camera world. They're great for random accessories if everywhere else is shut on a Sunday afternoon. Normally there's one person in there who knows their stuff, and it's pot luck who you get. The Altrincham branch were an exception to this rule - a cracking group of lads. Sadly that branch shut and my nearest is now in the Trafford Centre. I tend to avoid the TC if I can because I was told off for wearing a hoodie that I'd bought from a shop there. Never mind, eh?

 

When I went in for a lens cap for the D70 (it didn't come with one) three of lads on the shop floor looked at me as if I was speaking Dutch and had no idea of the lens diameter. Fourth girl was spot on, had a D7000 herself and got me the right size lens cap (58 mm, fact fans) for my Nikkor 28-100.

 

As I say, pot luck. Tesco are cunts, also. We do price comparisons on TVs against them quite a lot. Their warranties are bleedin' expensive.
