These things have a self-diagnosis feature on the engine management, I cant remember off hand how you interrogate it but I think you only need a bit of wire or something, to connect two of the pins in the diagnostic plug. it flashes an LED to tell you whats put the EMS light on. I did it on mine. See if you can get that light out!

yup - it even has a built in test wire and plug - sheer lazieness is responsible!

no - can't do it - like it too much and it has been the one dependable constant throughout a very tough 6 months for the family....also, my business partner was saying how much he is looking forward to us being able to buy new cars later in the year through the business and won't I appreciate being able to ditch my old Volvo -

 

clearly such a statement is red rag to a bull for a Shitter so I replied:

 

"what are you talking about? there's no need to replace a perfectly good car - if there is some cash around I'll get the bodywork tarted professionally and maybe upgrade the stereo and put in a hands free.....new car indeed!"
