FB60 rolls royce engine

i had a strange phonecall from an old friend tonight....

 

while doing some demolition and rebuilding of farm buildings this afternoon, he turned up an FB60 rolls royce engine with a borg warner box attached (after googling; i suspect its 'model 8' borg warner) and twin SU's, it looks clean and turns over by hand, the owner said it was running a couple of years ago. apparantly the old boy wanted to fit the block to his landrover, but couldnt find anyone to take on the task

 

i know the FB60 is a development of the B40/B60 engine used by the military, but was it ever used in any other production car other than the Princess 4 litre? (and the austin healey 4000 prototypes)

 

is there a 2wd manual box that would mate with the fb60 engine?

Is the Vanden Plas 4 Litre R the same car as the Princess? Mate of mine is bangering one (and it's biscuit two tone) but I think that had a BW35 on it.

I imagine it was designed from the ground up to work with a slushmatic. I can't see an APC requiring a manual box. It might be a case of making up an adaptor plate and seeing how you go.
