Burnside Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Hi, i have for sale a shitetastic Black 5 door Fiat Uno 60s. An ex Swithland motors car, hence the retro side graphics & pop up sun roof!! In black with blue cloth trim, and a 5 speed gearbox. The car has a carb, not injection and a manual choke!! But always fires first turn of the key, and the steering is light despite not having power steering. I have no doubt that the engine has only done 63k!! as the engine is best ive ever expeienced in a Uno. I haven't had the car long, so ive not really done much too it other than clean it!I originally bought it to get to work, and to fix up a little for my girlfriend to learn to drive in. However i'm getting a company van soon, and my girlfriend has decided to get all aspirational and is looking at a Nouva Fiat 500 instead!! And so i don't have the room for it sadly , as my Punto needs my attention too! Unfortunately the car has now decided to be all italian!! both side repeaters and horn have stopped working. And the the passenger side wheel is making noise, either a wheel bearing/ cv joint/ or stickng brake not sure which? Plus the brake pedal sometimes is going between solid & soft? been advised it's a master cylinder which is about £50 from a local motor factors. The car itself is fairly solid, the arches and floor appear sound. However the car does need some minor bodywork which i was going to do, and it does need a pair of front door's as there rotten. Plus these are bent at the top where someone has attempted to break in, plus both front door locks don't work! The sunroof has been siliconed shut, just need's a new seal to put it right. The interior could do with a good valet, and the headlining is a little tatty. The front tyres are ilegal though, as i did have some spare alloys on but im keeping those for my Punto. However i think with some new doors, and a little effort the car could be very nice once again or maybe just cheap wheels? The number plate could be valuable, as it's H***BUT!! Or comedy value at least? depending on your view point. Or the engine could be great for another Uno, Punto, Cinqucento or Seiceno etc...Plus you'll get money back on the bodyshellcetc when you scrap it! not to mention the spares you could sell on from it? Because of the cars condition, i'd recomend you trailer the car away. However if you want to drive the car away, you do so at your own risk!! Will consider a very near offer on the car, as i appreciate it's not immaculate but has potential!! Message me on the Autoshite forum, or Ring anytime after 6pm monday to friday, or after 1pm on saturday plus anytime sunday day on 07790 550 115 Looking for £225 o.v.n.o
theorganist Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 I had a 1990 60S a few years ago. It was a great little car, the mechanic I used at the time could not believe it was only an 1100. I used to use it on long drives rather than the Fiat Tipo 1600 I also had as the Uno was quieter and more comfortable!! In the end I got rid of it as the head gasket failed and some of the valves were sticking. It is still sitting on someones front garden somewhere, one of only a hand of my old cars to have survived!
barrett Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 At that price Louise could buy this and keep the Aggro! It's got got bloody seat belts and everything... Seriously though, that must be a proper bargain for someone here?

It's not bad it just needs a litle TLC to make it nice again or just cheap wheels.

Well this one has done well to survive, i reckon it's been mostly cared for until the last couple of owners. As i strongly suspect the car has been Farmer Giles material at some point!! due to the state of the interior when i got it and all the mud etc i removed from inside the wheel arches. It is hard to believe it's only a 1.1 as it very nippy and can cruise at the legal limit without complaint, needless to say it's upset a few people with bigger machinery!!
