Worst one I remember is the Escort van whose owner fitted his new stereo using uninsulated power cable, someone who used a second hand head gasket, springs cable tied in place and plenty of tyres right down to the cords. However I'm sure you have better examples?

Love the fibreglassing on the top pic Have seen plenty of chassis rails stuffed with paper then filled over, have heard of a rear brake caliper being cable tied on

What's happening in the second one?

This is my worst bodge, welded a plate into the floor, put everything back together again. Got in the car to drive. Everytime you rested your foot on the carpet, the plate would go 'boing', and pop back up again with a 'boioioing' when you lifted!

I think the second picture is a vented disc that's worn away on one side. I'd say it's more neglect than a bodge though.

The cure for a boinging floor patch is to hit it very hard with a hammer.

How long before we see the indian man welding the truck held up by wood*?

Or the old Corolla with no bodywork left threading it's way through downtown Nairobi*??

Another "Autoshite Gold" thread in the making.

Many years ago an old 'monkeys uncle' type asked me to bleed brakes on his SD1, he'd fixed a rear brake pipe that had rusted through but now couldn't get a good pedal. When I looked I found the brake pipe had been 'fixed' with a length of rubber fuel hose and jubilee clips.

When I was a kid my friend had a Suzuki X5 bike, when the front pads wore out he built them up with filler, didn't work. Tried again with a little sand mixed in, still didn't work. Then his CDI module went pop, he mounted a points type timing plate on the outside of the engine cover, drilled a big hole in the middle for a cam extension, this worked, until it rained.
