Mr_Bo11ox Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 OMG ALL NEW CARS R RUBBISH N DRIVEN BY COCKS COCKS
shite_meister Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Whenever I'm driving my TVR Chimaera I can guarantee some boy-racer will try it on, I'm past the stage of really giving a shit about cars, speed and image (he says driving a TVR) The Lexus LS400 always susprised a few with its brisk starts but to be totally honest I find it underwhelming on the motorway for a 4.0, a modern Turbo Diesel is quite a torquey devil in disguise. I had an LS400 - wonderful thing my one was an early one with t he chromey front end - I could appreciate the quality of the engineering but it was an uninspiring drive compared to a period 5 series or an XJ40 and the V8 although quick off the mark seemed to lack a bit of top end torque like you say - especially when compared to a modern diesel I will say this though - the factory fitted stereo was phenomenal! Yeah mine is the first shape old one, as you say beautifully engineered but fairly uninspiring to throw around some country roads unlike a BMW or Jag. Just borrowing a little Fiat Fiorino van (the new one) from work and it must only be a 1.3 TDi but with 140lbft of torque it really is quite a rapid little unit.
