Deeply desired diesel for sale. *half-arsed content alert*

I doubt we'll get many arguments over the sh1te value of this but here goes.

1995/6 'N' plate Vectra diesel hatchback for sale.

For anyone that might care this a bloody early one and universally popular with the motoring public and press in general. Or maybe not.

Actually been a very reliable car for my mate who's had it a few years and cheap to run. Was serviced every year before MOT and never packed up on him and he did for some reason best known to him, travel all over Britain in it when he felt like it.

Brucie bonus is it's the Isuzu tiddly dizzler so should do silly amounts of mileage with basic maintenance.

Bad points:

It's a Vectra.

It's done something like 270,000 odd miles miles.

I'm pretty sure it's been a taxi a few years back.

Front bumper 'lip' held on with string/gaffer tape and cable ties, but you could just launch it.

It's bound to be pretty rough inside and not too clever outside.

Short MOT (like Feb 8th or something like that) but not expected to want much at all.

Tax up end Jan.

It's a Vectra.

I sort of saved this from scrap (no, I don't know why either) and hopefully it'll make a nice cheap knockabout/get to work/I'm desperate so will take anything car for someone. Or just have the engine and box off and weigh the rest in.

£200 thankyou please, it'll be here by the end of the weekend probably Friday or Saturday so pictures and more details then. Might be able to tax it again (at your expense and only once it's been paid for) if you're desperate. And you'd probably need to be.

Please form an orderly queue to save a very early Vectra and one of what must be a tiny amount of early 1.7TDs left.

To be fair, those 1.7TD's weren't bad at all - bloody good engine. Were these the Isuzu based units based on a rehashed GM engine?

I bet the bastard runs well on a spot o' Veg.

I think they were independant of the GM efforts Rev. Isuzu are veg oil friendly too, happy days for someone. I'd honestly re-test and keep it if I had the spondulicks and just run it as a 'test car' for bio fuel but I can't see me being able to afford to at the moment. Mind you whanging the engine out and trying to shoe-horn it into a Corsa could be a laugh as you can tweak the boost up on these engines.

Putting that donk in a base model Corsa and running it on veg........

Hmmm. 60 mpg with fuel costing perhaps a fiver for a used 25 litre drum with the bits of batter filtered out - plus the odd gallon of pump dizzle to keep it sweet. Got to be a winner.

Yeah, the 1.5 TD. The reliable* 1.7 has an extra 15bhp and 28lb/ft of torque though.

*Sad bastard Corsa anorak alert*

They came in 1.5 n/a and 1.5TD in earlier forms and later ones had a 1.7 n/a lump. I can personally vouch for the jolly awesomeness of the 1.5TD as they're mentally quick.
