does anyone remember a tv program from the 80's in which a housewife learns to race in a mini? Ring any bells?

Let me know if you find one. I think you'll be lucky tbh, hardly anybody remembers it and it's a crap title to have to search for- every biography of every racing driver ever has the same title.

 

I borrowed the book from the library a few years ago, which is why I was able to remember the title. I'm not sure if the book was based on the series or vice-versa. IIRC, in the book at least, the Mini had a Ford BDA engine.
