Having recently had (left) knee surgery, I had to sell my beloved manual 'box E36 BMW to buy a car with automatic transmission. I bought this Merc, which has served me well for the past two months, however now that my knee is better, I fancy something with a manual gearbox and RWD. Another E36 or WHY?

I'd love a 4x4 - Disco, Rangey, Shogun.... but must be diesel.

Your car must have long T&T and be in equally good condition. No projects, no FWDs.

I have some cash put aside so if your motor is worth more than mine we'll do a deal.

Details:

1994, M-reg, E200 automatic.

Post facelift, so 16V engine with 136BHP.

Easy 30MPG on commute and high 30s on a gentle run. Please note that I drive the car very gently with the gearbox set to Economy.

4 speed gearbox with S and E settings.

102k miles with enough history to guarantee the mileage.

MoT until 1st September 2011

Tax until 1st June 2011

Spec: leather interior, 2 x airbags, alloys, electric windows x 4, electric mirrors, electric sunroof, cruise control, Cat 1 Mercedes alarm and immobiliser that also operates the central locking, nice Pioneer head unit with remote control, ABS... you get the idea.

Recent maintenance: receipt for £260 from 3 months ago for a full service, including new filters, brake fluid, etc. Since I've had it I've fitted a brand new battery (3 year guarantee), front brake pads and a thermostat (wasn't getting up to full temperature, is perfect now). 4 x matching Michellin Pilot tyres all with 5mm+ tread.

Condition:

Mechanically spot on, starts first time, idles perfectly, promptly gets up to 85'C+ and stays there, perfect oil pressure, smooth changing autobox, solid brakes, sharp steering, smooth suspension aside from light knock from the front if driven over very rough surfaces. Exhaust system is in good condition.

All electric toys work 100%, including cruise control. Stereo has upgraded speakers, sounds good. I play my MP3s via a cassette adaptor.

Interior is in good condition, driver's seat good, no major stains, cracks or signs of damage. Front armrest leather is the only element that shows its age.

Externally, gloss black paintwork is in good condition. Very slight rust to front of front offside wheel arch (beneath the paint, nothing serious). Nearside front wing perfect. Slight bubbling to bootlid above and below chrome trim, nothing serious. Slight dink to top of bootlid, again nothing serious. No other rust or dents. Has the odd mark here and there, but nothing serious and car looks very presentable. Wheels are nice and clean.

I am located near J2, M40 in Buckinghamshire, approx 30 minutes from west London.

Approx value of car: £1,000. I don't want to sell as I need a car for daily use. If I can't do a deal then I'll keep the Merc, no worries.

Best to PM me or simply reply on here!
